Holidays Around the World Teleconference Wiki

Project Description:

 

Classes (K-5)will prepare a 5-8 minute presentation to share the culture and customs of a winter holiday in the country of their choice via videoconference.

 

Students may use drawings, artwork, music, songs, dances, skits, costumes, or food demonstrations in their presentations.

This project with enable students to understand the origins of customs, holidays, and celebrationsthroughout the world. The content of the student presentation can be adapted to fulfill the social studies TEKS appropriate to your grade level.

YOUR PRESENTATION MUST CONTAIN THE FOLLOWING:

1) Map with the name and country or region

2) Date of the holiday

3) Type of food

4) A holiday tradition

5) What type of decorations are used

6) Type of weather during the holiday

 

The following are optional

1) An example of art or music

2) Who plays the role of Santa?

3) Anything else that your class finds interesting
